In March 2002 we welcomed into our lives our first born child,
Matthew.
 Soon after birth, Matthew was diagnosed with severe eczema.
Thereafter
we jad many sleepless months and wondering why our son was totally covered
in raw itchy skin. At 6 months of
age we discovered he had allergy to
eggs; Matthew was consuming egg via breast milk.
After many emergency anaphylactic scares and rushing to Matthew
to hospital, he was eventually skin tested and was diagnosed with
allergies to egg, dairy, soy, wheat and nuts.
Further diagnoses by two prominent specialists confirmed the
original opinion and we had to accept that our lifestyle would
have to dramatically change.
We have spent many long days searching for manufacturers who
specialise in products suitable for Matthew's food allergies.
While there are several manufacturers that cater for food intolerances, it
is very difficult to locate a wide range of these products in a single store. We
developed a whole new range of searching and sourcing skills in this
particular area and we think we have become pretty good at it over
the years.
In a fit of madness we decided to to gather the best and most
complete range of products suitable for the most common allergies and food
intolerances - from basic foods to
bedding - and make them available Australia wide.
Now in 2005 we are proud to launch our new website www.Allergyblock.com
so that you can access our wide range of specialty products and share your daily experiences
with people all
over the world.
*We also have a new addition Jack who is now one and a half years
old. Jack has been R.A.S.T (Skin Test) tested and the results came
back as having an egg allergy. We can manage egg-free foods quite
easily due to our 'food avoidance' for our first boy, Matthew.
Although Jack did not test positive for any other foods, we are
quite 'hesitant' in introducing wheat, fish and other foods into his
diet...we think it just comes with the territory and know that a lot
of you would understand which avenue we are coming from. We shall
keep you all updated as to progress.*
We are a small family company and our intention is to provide the
best possible service for people with sensitivities - be it an
allergy or an intolerance.
